GEN X TALK with Starchy and Johnny
Starchy and Johnny walk on Saturday mornings. They both enjoy remembering times of growing up during the 70's, 80's, and 90's. They both share stories of watching Saturday morning cartoons, watching Johnny Carson, eating McDonald's Happy Meals, and going to the movie theater to watch Star Wars. We decided to start a podcast to help share these stories. We also discuss issues of the day. Thank you for listening to Gen X Talk with Starchy and Johnny.
GEN X TALK with Starchy and Johnny
GXT Ep 18 Payless Memories
Hello again Gen X Enthusiasts,
It was a glorious cool day on a certain Sunday in the middle of November 2021. Starchy and Johnny had their grown up walk to a corporate coffee establishment house to enjoy a steaming hot cup of latte. A bonus was when Starchy enjoyed an amazing chicken and waffle sandwich. Later Johnny used the restroom for the 4th time that day.
Our hosts remembered what it was like to visit a certain dry goods / general merchandise retail store back in the 1980's called Payless. Payless was among a type of retail store that did not sell groceries. Payless sold dry goods, general merchandise, and had a pharmacy. Johnny's Dad worked as a pharmacist at the local neighborhood Payless in Sacramento California. Both Starchy and Johnny had retail store experience working as young lads. Johnny remembers working at Raley's Grocery Store as a courtesy clerk in Carmichael California and Starchy worked at Payless as a cashier clerk in San Jose California.
Our hosts also share certain lists of places of business that they don't like.
Thank you for listening to the Gen X Talk Podcast with Starchy Archie and Johnny Pendejo.
